100 WC – Week 17

As I was walking down the hall, I saw a ghost precede around a corner. She said something, but it was not audible. Rounding the corner, I was prepared to see her, but I couldn’t see her. I saw her, but how could she just disappear out of thin air. My breathing becomes fitful. Every turn, I’m scared I’ll see her. The light bulb is broken, which does not facilitate the situation. My mind cannot grapple the fact that she is gone. I continue to search the house, but she is not here. Maybe, she’ll leave me alone… Just maybe…

100 Word Challenge – Week 1

Got Lost in Mexico City Airport!

On March 28, 2018, two scholars from Beta Academy, named Sarah Pyle and Gabriel Doria got lost in the Mexico City Airport. The two had gotten separated from their group, and they did not know where to go or what to do. Reflecting on the event, Gabriel Doria said,” I was just trying to stay calm because I knew if I was worried, Sarah would become more worried.” When asked about the event Sarah Pyle said,” I was petrified because I was in a foreign country, and I did not speak Spanish. I felt a little better knowing that Gabriel could speak Spanish. I also was glad I was with my best friend.” Sarah and Gabriel had gone to get donuts because they had had an early flight. After buying their donuts, they returned to the spot the group had been 5 minutes before. However, the group was nowhere to be found. Sarah and Gabriel quickly decided to stay where they were and ask the people around if they had seen the group. No one had seen the group, so Gabriel and Sarah decided to wait. After 5 minutes, they decided to move because Gabriel had seen some guys watching them. Sarah and Gabriel walked around the airport, upstairs and down. They finally decided to walk to their gate. At the gate, they found their group. Their chaperone, Mr. Benitez, told them that needed to stay with the group. This is a lesson I believe the community as a whole can learn from. If you are in an airport or any public area, and you are with a group, stay with your group. Maybe then, the number of child abductions will decrease.

My Song – “Let You Down” by NF

Have you ever heard a song that you related to? A song that relates to my life is “Let You Down” by NF. This song talks about how bad decisions can make you look back at your life, wishing you had done better, and how the voices in your head can affect you in negative ways.

In the song, it says,” I wish that I could say I’m proud.” The singer is the artist’s future self, who’s looking back on his life, wishing he could look at it proudly, but he cannot. I relate to this because I cannot say I’m proud of some of the decisions I have made.

Also, the song says, “All these voices in my head get loud, I wish I could shut them out.” The artist is beating himself because of his bad decisions, so he is hearing voices. I can relate to this because sometimes I think about my past mistakes and I hear voices telling me over and over how I messed up.

Thirdly, the song says,” You don’t make this work, you just want to make this worse, want me to listen to you, but you don’t wanna know my hurt.” This is the artist talking to the voices. Telling them that he has tried to make peace, but the voices, but the voices are persistent. I can relate to trying to make peace with the voices, but the voices don’t ever stop. I have gotten really good at ignoring them, but I have my moments just like everyone else.

All in all, this relates to me because I look back on my decisions and I am disappointed. This song is touching millions to remember to make your decisions wisely because they can and will come back to haunt you. I myself am more careful when making a decision. I want to be proud of my decisions, and I don’t want to have the voices reminding me of my mistakes.

Brian had always wanted to see the world above. Brian was a demon from the underworld. He had read books about the world above; about the beautiful beaches of Galveston, and the mountains ( he had no idea what a mountain was). His teacher had told him the books he read were outdated, therefore making his desire to explore the world above stronger. He did his research and by stealing the king’s staff, he would be able to explore the world above. Brian went to the king and stole his staff while he was sleeping. Brian then accomplished his lifelong dream.

It was in my sandwich!” I almost fainted when I saw my battery in my  brother’s hand looking dilapidated. There was no way the battery could maintain the power that was required for my project. Luckily, I acquired another battery from the junk drawer in the kitchen. My brother had to closely supervised in the car, to avoid an incident, because he was far too energetic. Then, I realized my battery had disappeared as I hurried outside.

100 Word Challenge – Week 9

Jesus went to bed one night feeling normal, despite his crippling depression. He woke up and heard a commotion. He walked out the door, and he could not believe his eyes. Thousands of transparent people were running around with luggage. The people did not seem to notice him. All of them were leaving quickly.  Except one man, that noticed that Jesus was staring, approached Jesus and talked to him for a while. He gave Jesus the power to look into the past. The man told Jesus to assure that history never repeats itself. Jesus could not keep history from repeating.
